The ESCALE takes the penny loafer into a smooth bordeaux leather with an even tannage. A clean vamp and lightly scooped collar draw a pared-back line, which the lugged sole counterbalances — a contrast of proportions that sets the model apart from classic city loafers.

René Cléon, a World War 2 veteran and skilled bootmaker, started KLEMAN from his family's home in La Romagne. Nearly eighty years on, the workshop still turns out hard-wearing leather footwear from the same corner of the Maine-et-Loire.
