7 XL 58 cm 74.5 cm
8 XXL 61 cm 76 cm

As this is a Relaxed Fit style, it sits roomier than the Classic Fit 215 tee. Most Merz tees run a bit smaller than regular American sizing — if you wear a size M in American T-shirts, we recommend selecting a size L in the Merz relaxed fit tees, or staying true to size for a slimmer fit.

Please note this t-shirt is not industrial pre-washed. Please allow for approx. 3% (2–3cm) shrinkage in length after the first wash — this is already factored into the cut, so it may feel slightly long before that first wash.

This garment was made in Germany on original loopwheelers — one of only two remaining loopwheeling operations in the world. Made with patience, peace, and a lot of experience, these machines revolve at a very slow speed and require artisan craftsmanship to operate.

Founded in 1911 by Balthasar Merz in the Swabian Alb region of Germany, Merz b. Schwanen began as a traditional maker of high-quality undergarments for local workers. For nearly a century, the factory utilized specialized circular knitting machines to create durable, comfortable basics. However, as industrial fast-fashion rose in the late 20th century, the original brand eventually ceased production.

The modern revival occurred in 2011, exactly 100 years after its founding, when designer Peter Plotnicki discovered a vintage Merz b. Schwanen Henley at a flea market. Captivated by the unique "loopwheeled" fabric, he and his partner Gitta tracked down the original factory and restored its antique, 100-year-old machinery.
